HDRC Services is a local not-for-profit organisation that has been providing social programs, respite care and support services for people living with dementia or a disability for over 30 years.
DEMENTIA AND AGED SUPPORT SERVICES
Our dementia and aged support services are designed and delivered using the principles of the Montessori approach for dementia. This respected teaching method focuses on maintaining each person’s individual interests, abilities and skills.
By offering engaging activities that have real meaning and purpose, we encourage independence and improve general wellbeing of each client.
Social Group Programs
Our dementia programs are available at our Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Laurieton centres and are designed to provide carers with a regular break from their 24/7 role.
But, they’re far from being a ‘minding service’. Incorporating innovative Montessori principles, our day centre activities are designed to:
Engage each client and encourage social interaction.
Improve general wellbeing and independence.
Slow memory loss and the progression of dementia.
Strengthen family bonds, and
Help keep people with dementia living at home longer.
Our professional staff can also help carers and families better understand dementia and create a more dementia-friendly home environment.
If you require respite support in your home, a highly trained HDRC Services’ In-Home Support Worker can visit for an hourly fee. Each of our staff is experienced in supporting people living with dementia.
From 27th February 2017, HDRC Services becomes an approved aged care service provider, able to assist older people to manage their government-funded Home Care Package. Developed with your input, Home Care Packages include individually planned and coordinated support services designed to keep you living at home by offering choice and flexibility in the way care and support is delivered.
